**Tires may require more frequent rotation depending on driving conditions, alignment and driving habits.
TYPE B SERVICE: B/B1/09
- Replace engine oil* and filter.
- Service front and rear brakes.
- Inspect parking brake adjustments.
- Inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box and boots.
- Inspect suspension components.
- Inspect driveshaft boots.
- Inspect brake hoses and lines (including ABS).
- Rotate tires**, inspect for wear and adjust pressure.
- Check all fluid levels, and condition of fluids and check for leaks.
- Inspect the exhaust system.
- Inspect fuel lines and connections.
(Air and pollen filters extra)
The Type B service includes engine oil and filter change, brake service and comprehensive chassis inspections. It may be accompanied by displayed sub-items indicating other maintenance is due.
Brake system: All brake components and friction materials are inspected for wear and deterioration, then serviced to remove the accumulation of debris and corrosion and to replenish lubricants that deteriorate with time and use. Parking brake to be adjusted if necessary.
Chassis inspections: The suspension, steering, brake hydraulic system, driveline, exhaust system and fuel system are inspected for wear, damage or irregularities that may require attention.
Maintenance Sub-Items
SUB ITEM 1
Every 8,000 to 10,000 km
- Rotate tires**, inspect for wear and adjust pressure.
The tires are inspected for damage and abnormal wear. The rotation is done. Pressures are checked & adjusted if needed.
SUB ITEM 2
Every 24,000 km
- Replace the engine air filter.
- Replace cabin air filter.
SUB ITEM 3
Every 50,000 km or 3-4 years
- Replace transmission fluid.
Replace transmission fluid: Replacement is necessary to maintain proper operation and protection against wear.
Replace transfer case fluid (4WD trucks): Replacement is necessary to maintain proper operation and protection against wear.
SUB ITEM 4
Every 100,000 to 120,000 km
-
Replace spark plugs. Inspect valve clearance.
-
Replace the timing belt and water pump.
Replace spark plugs: Replacement is necessary to maintain smooth engine power delivery, fuel efficiency and low exhaust emissions.
Replace the timing belt and inspect the water pump (V6 only): The timing belt gradually wears and deteriorates and must be replaced to avoid failure and potentially severe engine damage. The water pump is easily accessed during timing belt replacement and should be inspected and if necessary, replaced.
Inspect valve clearance: Improper clearances can affect engine performance and efficiency and may cause abnormal noise.
SUB ITEM 5
Every 120,000-180,000 km or 8 years
-
Replace engine coolant.
SUB ITEM 6
First one is done at 16,000-22,000 km. Then every 48,000 km or 3-4 years
- Replace rear differential fluid.
Replace rear differential fluid: (4WD trucks, S2000) Must be replaced when indicated to prevent wear and damage to internal components.
SUB ITEM 7
Every 3 years
-
Brake fluid replacement.
Brake Fluid Replacement: Reduce the risk associated with moisture-contaminated brake fluid and extends the life of your brake system.
SUB ITEM 9
Every year or every second oil change.
-
Front and rear brake service.
-
Inspect chassis.
Front & Rear Brake Service: Ensures proper operation and extends lining life. Prevents premature brake wear.
