Honda celebrates its 11 millionth vehicle produced in Canada

Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) celebrates the production of its 11 millionth vehicle at its Alliston, Ontario plant – a Rallye Red 2026 Honda Civic Hybrid. Honda Canada's President and CEO, Dave Jamieson, joined HCM associates to mark the occasion. This milestone builds on the 2023 achievement when the 10 millionth vehicle rolled off the line and comes just ahead of the plant's 40th anniversary in 2026. Contributing to the production milestone, October also marks the 25th Anniversary of the Acura MDX which started production in Alliston. HCM's hallmark for flexible manufacturing has produced vehicles of varying powertrains, size and class, including today's hybrid and internal combustion models built together on the same assembly line.

"11 million cars later, Honda of Canada Mfg. associates and our supply chain partners continue to demonstrate the best in North American manufacturing, thanks to the flexible manufacturing Honda is known for," said Dave Jamieson, President and CEO of Honda Canada. "Thank you to all our associates, our partners, suppliers and the local Alliston community for being integral to HCM's legacy. As Canada's second largest auto manufacturer, Honda has consistently maintained its manufacturing operations since 1986. We remain committed to Canada and its robust manufacturing ecosystem, with Ontario's business-friendly environment continuing to foster our growth and innovation."

"I would like to thank and congratulate all of our highly skilled associates at HCM for helping us reach this milestone through their hard work and commitment to quality," said Bobbi Curran, Vice President, Honda of Canada Mfg. "Within today's challenging manufacturing environment, we continue to maintain production to meet the robust demand for the popular CR-V and Civic. HCM and our associates have earned a reputation for quality and leadership within the Honda manufacturing family and I look forward to celebrating more achievements in the future."

In 1986, Honda became the first Japanese automobile manufacturer to establish a production facility in Canada, launching with the Honda Accord. Since then, HCM has played a key role in Honda's North American manufacturing plans, serving as the launch plant for a number of iconic Honda models like the first full-size Odyssey, Pilot and Ridgeline, and the Acura EL, MDX and ZDX. HCM has earned numerous designations, including being named the global lead plant for the Honda Civic in 2015. Today, it proudly serves as the global lead plant for the sixth-generation Honda CR-V.
